Welcome to MCC Baton Rouge

mcc building front

Founded on Sunday, December 4, 1983, we are proud to be celebrating 35 years in the Baton Rouge and South Louisiana communtiy. Our continued outreach would not be possible without the many blessings from God and the support of our wonderful members, friends, and online community. Also, many businesses have helped to make our community feel welcomed and supported in a part of the world with a reputation for being less than friendly to the our community. To learn more about MCCBR and the Metropolitan Community Church denomination, visit the About MCCBR tab at the top of this page.

Where & When We Gather

We meet every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. at 7747 Tom Drive (near Airline Hwy.) Our worship services are open to everyone, as a safe space for all to gather. As with MCC's around the world, every Sunday we offer an open communion. This means that you do not have to be a member of our church or any MCC or any church in order to partake of the Holy Communion sacraments. During each Sunday service, we have a children's message, which ties in with the message for the congregation.

MCCBR Outreach Ministries

Grocery Collection

MCC Baton Rouge has several outreach ministries throughout the year:

"Makin' Groceries" is our food collection ministry for those who are in need of food for themselves and their families. Our collections are transferred to the organization Hope Ministries which has a 'grocery store' style food pantry.

Every year MCCBR collects pet food and pet supplies for a rescue organization in our area.

Also, every Christmas we collect a variety of supplies for the residents of Baton Rouge Heritage House skilled nursing home. Each year we deliver more than 100 Christmas bags filled with activity books, personal hygiene items, socks and a variety of other requested items; enough for each guest to receive their own personal gift bag.
