Freedom Center

A Gathering Place Since 2004

More than a building. A place to come together.

For over twenty years, the Freedom Center at 7747 Tom Drive has been where our community worships, organizes, learns, and celebrates. It is a warm, flexible, fully equipped space, and one we are glad to open up to you.

Our Story

A Home Built for Community

In August 2004, after years of meeting in rented spaces, MCCBR established a permanent home at 7747 Tom Drive, and with it, the Freedom Center. For two decades it has hosted worship, support groups, celebrations, and countless gatherings where chosen family is formed and every person is welcomed exactly as they are.

But the Freedom Center was always meant to be shared. Today it serves not only our congregation, but community groups and neighbors across Baton Rouge who need a place to meet, gather, and belong.

Open to the Community

A Good Space Is Meant to Be Shared

We believe the best way to honor a space like this is to open its doors. The Freedom Center’s facilities may be available to local non-profits and other community groups, for one-time special events or regularly scheduled gatherings, at reasonable rates.

Whether you are planning a single celebration or looking for a recurring home for your group, we would love to hear from you.
